Articulating boom lift for aerial lift safety guidance

Aerial lift selection should begin with the work position, platform or basket requirements, access route and site controls. A generic lifting-platform description cannot establish that a particular machine is suitable for a worksite.

Information to Prepare

Record working height, horizontal reach, platform load, ground condition, doorway and route constraints, outdoor exposure and the intended work task. Identify whether the requirement is for a platform, boom or another access arrangement.

Document Review

Ask for the exact model manual, rated platform information, operating limits, inspection requirements and any relevant attachment or configuration documentation. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.453 is a United States construction reference; destination-country rules may differ.

Site and Operator Controls

Review ground stability, overhead hazards, exclusion zones, fall-protection requirements, emergency procedures and trained operator responsibilities with the site team. Keep these controls separate from product marketing descriptions.

RFQ Checklist

  1. Working height and reach.
  2. Platform load and task description.
  3. Surface, slope and access route.
  4. Indoor or outdoor operating conditions.
  5. Required manual and inspection documents.
  6. Destination-country compliance review.

Browse listed high-lift scissor trucks and send the measured work requirement for supplier review.
